English Language Preparation (ELP)

Summary

If you need to improve your English language skills before you begin University of Auckland’s Foundation Studies Certificate programme, you can enrol in Taylors College Auckland’s English Language Preparation course. The English Language Preparation course is a training scheme approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and delivered by Study Group NZ Limited, trading as Taylors College. What will you study? During this course you will develop core English language skills and key study skills needed to prepare you for your university degree. Core language skills: Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening. Key study skills: You will develop key study skills that boost your confidence and help you learn faster, including: Exam techniques, Critical analysis, Note-taking, Text scanning. All English Language Preparation course classes are delivered on the Taylors College Auckland campus. During the course, you will attend 25 hours of face-to-face teaching per week and will be fully involved in student life. You will not have access to the University of Auckland until you start the Foundation Studies Certificate programme.
