Study Options

Students who successfully complete the required undergraduate courses at CIT can then enrol directly into the Massey University Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, and progress onto the Master of Professional Accountancy and Finance. Students can graduate from the Graduate Diploma one year of successful full-time study with Massey University, and the Master’s Degree after a further 2 years (3 years + 1 year + 2 years).

New Zealand Qualification

The Graduate Diploma in Business Studies is useful if you wish to keep up with professional developments in your field and are short of time. Or you may have found yourself working in a different field of business to that in which you hold a qualification.
The Graduate Diploma in Business Studies enables you to study another subject without completing a second bachelor’s degree. This is an undergraduate diploma, designed for those who do not have a degree in the subject you wish to pursue. You need to be a university graduate to enrol in this programme. It is a bridging tool to gain the equivalent of an undergraduate major in a specific area so you can go on to postgraduate study.

The Master of Professional Accountancy and Finance (MPAF) is the only professional master’s degree in New Zealand combining the two popular disciplines of accountancy and finance. It is open to graduates with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
Completion allows you to join key professional accountancy organisations in Australia and New Zealand. The MPAF meets the academic requirements of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). It is accredited by all three organisations. The MPAF is also endorsed by the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Institute.

Completing this qualification shows a commitment to gaining the business capabilities employers are looking for. It will build on your previous study and/or practical work experience. You'll gain an excellent understanding of accountancy and finance principles and practical applications. It is the only master’s qualification where your study covers both these disciplines. Whether you come from a background in accountancy and finance or not, the MPAF will help build on your skills to help you move into more senior roles.

Entry criteria

75% or above in the Changzhou Institute of Technology programme, IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5). Students must achieve a B- average or better in the Diploma in Business Studies in order to enter the Master of Professional Accountancy and Finance.
