Summary

The aim of this provider-led programme is to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to work alongside people, family, and/or whanau accessing social and community services, under broad guidance. ​

The purpose of this qualification is to provide organisations within the health and wellbeing sectors with graduates who have the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to work alongside people, family and/or whanau accessing social and community services, under broad guidance.

Employment Pathways

Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to be employed in a range of roles working alongside people, family, and whanau across health and wellbeing sectors.

Education Pathway

Students may proceed to further study in:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Public Health and Health Promotion (Level 5)

  • New Zealand Diploma in Addiction Studies (Level 6)

  • Bachelor's degrees in related health and wellbeing subject areas.

Entry criteria

  • Have a valid student visa;

  • Enrolled full-time;

  • Hold a qualification in Healthcare or equivalent;

  • OR have a keen interest in Healthcare and successfully attend an interview;

  • Have a satisfactory report from New Zealand Police vetting system if in NZ; students must complete the form to authorise Skill New Zealand to apply for this report

  • Have NZCEL Level 3 Applied or IELTS with score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5 or equivalent
