Global Pathways to New Zealand:

Study Options: Massey University, in partnership with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), offers the Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours majoring in Food Product Technology at SIT's Dover campus in Singapore.

The joint programme is 3.7 years over 10 trimesters. Students with approved diplomas from a polytechnic in Singapore can apply for exemptions and entry to Year 2, meaning you can complete the degree in 2.7 years. You can apply to start this programme in Year 1 or 2 and you will complete the Food Product Technology major.

Applications are open in February each year for a Trimester 1 start in September of the same year. Go to the Singapore Institute of Technology website for information on applying.

New Zealand Qualification

The Bachelor of Food Technology (Hons) degree is jointly awarded by both universities and is equivalent to Massey's New Zealand degree programme.

Entry criteria

All applicants will apply for admission to the Programme through SIT's central admission office.

All applicants will have to meet the admissions and eligibility criteria of SIT and of the programme in order to be admitted. SIT will conduct selection interviews in Singapore for applicants.

Applicants may apply for the programme through the following two pathways:

  • As an 'A' Level holder with at least 'C' grade passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry;
  • As a Diploma applicant. Diploma applicants who wish to have their prior academic qualifications recognised will be assessed under SIT's credit regulations and policies, as well as any applicable programme regulations.
