Study options
Students can apply for entry into the second year of the Otago Bachelor of Pharmacy programme after successfully completing the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science, the Diploma in Biotechnology or the Diploma in Biomedical Sciences at Republic Polytechnic. Students are eligible to graduate with a BPharm after a further two years of successful full-time study at the University of Otago (2.5 years + 2 years).
New Zealand Qualification
The University of Otago Bachelor of Pharmacy is accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council and is recognised as an approved qualification by the Malaysian Pharmacy Board and Singapore Pharmacy Council.
The Otago BPharm, the oldest university pharmacy degree in New Zealand, opens opportunities to practise as a pharmacist in various professional settings. It is a broad-based university programme in the physical, biological, social and health sciences.
