The objective of this programme is to provide experienced teachers, tutors, lecturers, advisors, trainers and developers with the research and practice-based knowledge and real world capabilities to be able to provide advanced professional level adult educational facilitation and coaching services.

PROGRAMME CONTENT
Programme content includes examination of current adult learning theories, approaches and practices, facilitation, assessment and moderation and micro to macro level quality educational planning. Learners will also analyse their own communication and facilitation practice in reflective cycles that improve educational facilitation capabilities. Learners will also practice and critically evaluate and develop quality educational planning components and development processes.

This programme leads to employment as a professional tertiary-higher education or business sector adult educator, facilitator, teacher, lecturer, trainer, people developer, moderator, learning and development leader, mentor, coach, learning advisor, capability developer, facilitative leader and manager.
Applicants must hold a formal level 5 or above teaching qualification (Certificate in Tertiary Teaching, Teaching Diploma or Degree) or equivalent, and have at least 2 years teaching experience in a Higher Education or other setting.
All applicants will be required to submit an application form, current curriculum vitae and write a statement about their professional goals and rationale for seeking entry into the programme. All learners wishing to enter the programme will undergo a conversation to discuss their interest in the programme.
Applicants without a formal adult teaching qualification may enter this programme post successful completion of a prescribed preliminary paper 100, Adult Learning Theories, Approaches and Practices.
Learners who have English as a second language must achieve IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5 in a single test event or NZQA English language equivalent.
