Summary

The aim of this programme is to provide people who have experience in a health or wellbeing environment with the skills, knowledge and attributes required to provide advanced person-centred support to those with complex needs, and to their family/whanau, and to take a leadership role in the healthcare workplace, particularly in the aged care field. The learning gained within this programme is transferred into work practice, with a supervised work placement in a New Zealand healthcare organisation.

Entry criteria

  • NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) or equivalent OR 3 years paid employment experience within the Health and Wellbeing sector
  • A compulsory criminal record check
  • Recommended minimum of Step 4 Literacy and Step 5 Numeracy on the Adult Learning Progressions or equivalent
  • An interview and a short statement of intent on why the learner wishes to pursue a Healthcare qualification.
  • NZSE requires that all applicants are double vaccinated by 1 Jan 2022 to gain entry into the programme (Applicants who do not produce valid evidence of vaccination will be considered unvaccinated and their enrolment will not proceed) (Conditions may apply as per directives from New Zealand Government regarding vaccinations administered in other countries)

English Requirements

  • IELTS academic score of 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 or NZCEL (Academic) Level 4 or equivalent.
