The objective of this programme is to introduce experienced higher-tertiary or business sector training educators to the research and practice based professional level knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to be able to contribute to the quality of new and ongoing learning curriculum design and quality assurance system developments and their management in higher-tertiary and business organisations.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT?
Learners in this programme will experience enjoyable interactive practice-based sessions, visits to education institutions and businesses, talks and discussions with experienced academic, learning, training, development and capability development managers and employers, tutorials, valuable assessment tasks and one-to-one coaching to achieve the programme graduate profile.
PROGRAMME CONTENT
Programme content includes the development of current adult learning theories, approaches and practices, advance facilitation practice, assessment and moderation, micro to macro level quality educational planning, analysis of their own communication and facilitation practice in reflective cycles, consultation and stakeholder engagement and key programme components that improve curriculum design, facilitation and learner management and quality management capabilities and professional conduct.

An adult educator, moderator, lecturer, curriculum advisor, programme leader, learning advisor, academic advisor, quality manger, development manager, learning manager, capability manager, academic manager, learning manager, department of faculty head of department or learning centre mentor, supervisor and team leader or manager.
Applicants must hold a formal teaching qualification (Certificate in Tertiary Teaching, Teaching Diploma or Degree) or equivalent, and have at least 2 years teaching experience in a Higher Education or other setting.
All applicants will be required to submit an application form, current curriculum vitae and write a statement about their professional goals and rationale for seeking entry into the programme.
All learners wishing to enter the programme will undergo a conversation to discuss their interest in the programme.
Applicants without a formal adult teaching qualification may enter this programme post successful completion of a prescribed preliminary paper 100, Adult Learning Theories, Approaches and Practices.
Learners who have English as a second language must achieve IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5 in a single test event or NZQA English language equivalent.
