Summary

The first course sets you on the pathway to your dream. It covers career planning, and basic tertiary study and planning skills. The second course hones those skills. You will gain more in-depth writing and research skills. This will have a strong emphasis on preparing you for success in your chosen pathway. The third course is an elective you choose from the area of study you want to focus on in your future studies. You can choose a course from a range of degrees and diploma from five broad categories: Business, Applied science, Social science, Information Technology and Library and Information studies.

You can study this programme part-time if you’re an international student living in New Zealand or overseas. If you’re living in New Zealand you will need to be in paid employment with a valid work permit.

  • Academic writing and referencing skills
  • Information and digital literacy skills.
  • You will also gain introductory knowledge in your chosen subject area.

Entry criteria

To gain entry into this programme you need a minimum of NCEA Level 2 or equivalent. If you are 20 years or older, you may eligible if you have work or educational experience relevant to your programme of study.

IELTS test – a General or Academic score of 5.5, with no band score lower than 5 or equivalent.
Cambridge English Qualifications – B2 First or B2 First for Schools with a score of 162. No less than 154 in each skill.
