The objective of this programme is to develop professional level managers for higher-tertiary education or business-not for profit sector learning, training, capability or development settings. Learners develop higher, associative and critical thinking and evaluative capabilities and key real world competencies.

Learners in this programme will enjoy interactive practice-based sessions, visits to education and business institutions and organisations, talks and discussions with experienced curriculum designers, academic, training, education, learning and development managers and employers, tutorials, valuable assessment tasks and one to one coaching to achieve the programs challenging graduate profile.
PROGRAMME CONTENT
Programme content includes examination of current adult learning theories, approaches and practices, advanced facilitation skills, assessment and moderation micro to macro level quality educational and learning orientated planning analysis their own communication and facilitation practice, programme components, curriculum design project management, curriculum design leadership, evaluation and learning related quality assurance practices that will improve management capabilities and the capacity to improve cross organizational learning outcomes plus understandings of international professional level conduct valued by employers.

A professional tertiary-higher education or business sectors as an adult educator, moderator, curriculum designer, programme leader, learning advisor, academic advisor, quality manger, development manager, learning manager, capability manager, training manager, academic manager, learning manager, department of faculty head of department or learning centre mentor, supervisor and team leader or manager.
Applicants must hold a formal teaching qualification (Certificate in Tertiary Teaching, Teaching Diploma or Degree) or equivalent, and have at least 2 years teaching experience in a higher education or other setting.
All applicants will be required to submit an application form, current curriculum vitae and write a statement about their professional goals and rationale for seeking entry into the programme.
All learners wishing to enter the programme will undergo a conversation to discuss their interest in the programme.
Applicants without a formal adult teaching qualification may enter this programme post successful completion of a prescribed preliminary paper 100, Adult Learning Theories, Approaches and Practices.
Learners who have English as a second language must achieve IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5 in a single test event or NZQA English language equivalent.
