The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Statistics (PGDipApStat) is a one-year programme of papers designed to prepare you to work as a statistician in business, industry or a research organisation. You should have a degree or equivalent qualification, and have studied mathematics and statistics to a level approved by the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department, normally having passed at least a 200-level paper in calculus and a 200-level paper in statistics.
Structure of the Programme
Every programme of study shall consist of
a. STAT 490
b. STAT 481
c. three further 400-level STAT papers
Every applicant shall
have been admitted to a degree of a university in New Zealand; or have been admitted ad eundem statum as entitled to proceed to the diploma and
have studied mathematics and statistics to a level approved by the Programme Director.
Admission to the programme shall be subject to the approval of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Humanities).
