Gain advanced business knowledge

This 180-point Master’s programme will hone your professional skills. You’ll develop practical, expert-level capability in problem-solving, negotiating, and influencing. You’ll also be able to apply the latest research methods in contemporary business settings.

What you'll study

The MBus(Prof) will build on your existing workplace knowledge to help you develop essential contemporary business skills.

Your studies will include:

1. Four core courses—you’ll develop a range of practical skills in problem-solving, researching, negotiating, and analysis. Choose four courses from:

Organisational Problem Solving

Economic Decision Analysis

Negotiation and Influence

Building an Evidence Base

Interdisciplinary Project.

2. One or two specialisations—choose either one or two specialisations by selecting specific elective courses from a particular area.

Courses are taught in a variety of formats, including block and evening classes. Classes are interactive and taught through a mixture of lectures, case studies, and in-class presentations to facilitate learning and deliver essential knowledge.

Diploma and Certificate programmes

Depending on your goals, you can opt for a shorter postgraduate business qualification by doing the Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Professional). The Diploma will allow you to gain a specialisation in one area of interest. Courses completed as part of the Certificate or Diploma can count towards the full Master of Business (Professional) programme if you decide to continue your studies.

Entry criteria

To be accepted into this programme you'll need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree with at least a B average
  • At least two years of relevant work experience
  • To be accepted by the programme director as capable of proceeding with the proposed course of study.

Proof of English proficiency

To be accepted into this programme you will need one of the following:

IELTS (Academic): minimum overall score of 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0

TOEFL: minimum score of 90 for the internet-based test with a minimum of 20 in writing

Pearson Test of English: minimum score of 58 (with a ‘Communicative’ score of not less than 50)

EAP: minimum final scores of 4,4,5,5
