The Foundation Sound and Music programme will produce graduates who are able to:
Participate as developing musicians, with basic skills in recording and live sound. Engage in higher level pathways through to entry level audio engineering, music performance, live sound and event management. Manage own learning and work effectively within teams and in the community. Gain a NZ qualification relevant to their level of knowledge, skills, literacy and numeracy.
Satisfactory Completion
To successfully complete and be awarded the New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills (Level 1) students must complete the prescribed programme of study and attain a minimum of 60 credits.
Applicants who wish to engage at Level 1 will be accepted providing there is sufficient evidence of being able to participate and achieve the course. This may be in the form of an interview or portfolio of work.
Special Note: Special entry onto the programme may be granted where evidence of Ministry of Education exemption can be supplied.
Applicants may be required to attend an interview in order to ascertain that this is a suitable programme of study for them.
