Summary
Central Southland College is a co-educational state school situated in Winton, a rural township serving a wide area of prosperous and fertile farmland. It provides excellent teaching and learning for students aged from 13 to 18.
It offers a wide-ranging programme of academic, sporting, cultural and outdoor opportunities. Winton is located 20 minutes north of Southland's main centre, Invercargill, and is on the doorstep of many places of natural beauty and adventure - mountains, glaciers, lakes and forest are found close by in Queenstown and Fiordland National Park.
Competing in many sports, such as soccer, golf, basketball, volleyball and rugby. International students appreciate the many activities on offer, and love the friendly, welcoming and safe environment.
We live in, and are part of, our natural environment, where the virtues of effort, enterprise and outdoor adventure are part of our everyday lives.

Central Southland College provides excellent teaching and learning for 500 students from Year 9 to 13.
We expect students to set high goals for themselves and work hard to achieve them. We also encourage all international to become involved with the many cultural, sporting and social aspects of the school. This helps develop independent, innovative and confident people who are ready to take full advantage of the next steps in their learning.
Within 1½ hours in all directions are many locations of natural beauty and scenery. Mountains, lakes and forest are found at Queenstown, and also at the World Heritage area of Fiordland National Park. There are stunning seascapes on the Southern coast and on spectacular Stewart Island.
