Founded in 1881, Christchurch Boys' High School is one of the leading boys' schools in New Zealand with a long tradition of producing high achievers. There is a strong focus on boys' learning, and catering to their learning styles. We are leaders in preparing young men for life in a global arena.

In 2011, two of our students were awarded a New Zealand Scholar prize and another was awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. We are one of the top sporting schools in New Zealand with over 40 students that have become All Blacks. In 2013, over 100 of our students represented New Zealand in a wide variety of sports. We have strong expectations of sportsmanship, involvement and presentation.

More about Christchurch Boys' High School

Orientation

Before international students begin classes, they attend an orientation programme and meet with the International Staff to discuss their course of study. All new students take an English test to help us with class placement and to determine the best course of study.

Accommodation

Our international students live with local host families who live close to school as this is a great way to learn about New Zealand and improve English. Our Homestay Coordinator will assist with family placement and monitor the student while they are studying at Christchurch Boys’ High School.
