Summary

Eastwest College was established in 1996 specifically for the purpose of training people for cross-cultural Christian service. The ground on which the college is built was donated by a local farmer. It has grown to its present size as the college staff are supported by sponsoring organisations to keep the fees low and to allow funds for expansion.

Eastwest is more than a place of training it is a multi-cultural community which lives, works and studies together. Students have come from many countries, including Africa, Asia, N & S America and Europe.

Eastwest operates a term-based study programme of one or two year NZQA registered qualifications.

Graduates of the college now serve in places as diverse as Russia, Japan, Mexico and India, with a diverse range of International organizations.

More about Eastwest College of Intercultural Studies

The reality for many Christian workers is that they will work in international teams. There are many books about living and working in multi-cultural teams and communities but there can be no substitute for actually living it day to day. The experience is amazing and the opportunity is here at Eastwest. Eastwest College is a residential college.Residential students share lunch and evening meals  during term time. With a variety of cultures and dietary preferences students will always find something a little different to try and we encourage them to share something from their culture.
