Greenpark School leads the way with a high quality learning environment for International Students. Students are exposed to many new opportunities in a significantly resourced environment and taught by committed teachers. Greenpark provides a supportive and caring learning environment to its students creating a vision of ‘learners for life’.
Our experienced International Manager and International Liaison Personnel work closely with all International Students and their families establishing a strong educational partnership. Our ESOL programme is led by expert literacy teachers who encourage students to explore our English language and express themselves confidently.
Greenpark School is recognised as one which focuses on the Arts providing specialist teachers in music, art and dance. Our Senior School Musical and School Art Exhibition programme highlight our talents and strengths in this area each year. Our purposely built technology suite will provide additional learning opportunities in science, robotics and soft materials.
Greenpark also provides its students with the opportunity to broaden their horizons and strives to give their students a better understanding of the global world through our International Exchange Programme. Through hosting students from Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan and Russia we have seen first-hand how hosting international students is a great opportunity to develop respect, knowledge and understanding of different cultures for both international students and our local students.
Greenpark School is situated in the suburb of Greerton, seven kilometres south from the city centre of Tauranga, New Zealand. We are a co-educational, contributing school for Year 1 – 6 students. The school was first established in 1956 and has grown steadily to a roll in excess of 900, currently accommodated in 33 classrooms.
Staffing at the school consists of 44 registered teachers, 11 teacher aides, a non teaching Principal, 2 Deputy Principals, SENCO, Music Specialist, Sports Co-Coordinator, Librarian, Art Tutor, Dance Teacher, International Student Manager, International Student Liaison Teacher, GATE Teacher, Individual Needs Teacher, ORS Teacher, Office Manager, Office Administrator, Office Assistant and Bursar/Principals P.A.
Greenpark School provides a safe, attractive, caring and supportive environment for all students and staff. The school operates an “open-door” policy, which encourages community involvement whenever possible.
The school runs various programmes for Students with both special needs and special abilities. Programmes for students with special needs are operated under the guidance of the SENCO, while programmes for students with special abilities are operated under the guidance of the GATE teacher.
A comprehensive International Student Programme is operated under the guidance of our International Manager and International Liaison Teacher. This International English Programme is delivered through both classroom teaching and ESOL classes with our trained specialists.
A wide range of curricular and extra curricular activities are on offer at Greenpark School:
drama, music, Kapa Haka, Information Technology and sport to name a few. A before and after school care programme is also available. Information regarding this is available through the school office.
