Havelock North Intermediate is in the green and lovely township of Havelock North. The school has approximately 500 students and caters specifically for students who are 11-13 years old. Our school has excellent teaching programmes and high-quality facilities. We will focus on your child’s academic learning and care about their complete wellbeing in a safe and happy environment.

At Havelock North Intermediate we believe in developing the potential of all our students through challenging and engaging programmes crafted to meet the specific needs of our Middle Years learners. Our motto, ‘Growing Together,’ reflects this community of learners who flourish through our varied academic, social, cultural and sports curriculum.
Havelock North Intermediate services the immediate urban population and the surrounding rural towns of Clive, Haumoana and Waimarama. Our community has high expectations for their children and the school understands this, encouraging full participation by students across the curriculum, and always aiming for excellence. We are delighted by the success our students achieve at local, regional and national levels.
Our classrooms are blended learning environments with quality teaching and learning experiences that incorporate the use of digital technologies. Our teachers know their students well – as learners and as individuals - and design engaging lessons that promote continuous improvement in students’ knowledge and skills.
Our School Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Choir, Wearable Arts, Dance, Drama and Kapa Haka groups showcase our strength in the Performing Arts. Our ‘Out of School’ Musical Instrument tuition programmes boasts 150 participants. Our technology programme provides a range of opportunities for students to receive specialist teaching in Science, Food Biotechnology, Hard Materials and Electronics. Our Multi-Media Suite and Television Studio further highlight the exciting opportunities available.
