Summary

We inspire, engage and challenge our students, arming them with a solid educational foundation, so they leave Hereworth ready for the challenges of any secondary school – and beyond. We understand and celebrate boys in all their different learning styles.

At Hereworth we live by our ‘Designed for Boys’ philosophy.  To find out more, take a look at our latest magazine and get in touch if you would like a copy mailed out to you.

Most boys love to learn – we have specific differences in our programmes to ensure this is tapped into. Our boys need activity, humour, competition, more playtime and shorter class lessons. They need clear boundaries and expectations and they need to be rewarded when it is due. Boys have a sense of fairness and want to be valued and respected. They love to be treated as boys.

We know that boys and girls are different and academic research tells us that there are very real advantages to the single-gender format of education. Studies prove that boys in an all-boys’ school are more than twice as likely to study subjects such as languages, art, music and drama than those in co-ed schools. They side-step their own reservations and join in.

Our international students come to gain an excellent education and learn English. They make lifelong friends and explore new opportunities in a secure, happy and fun-filled environment.

The boarding house is a happy and safe base for their learning, with clear boundaries and high expectations set. Having the freedom to explore the school’s 22 acres of grounds is a unique and wonderful experience for many of our international students. We also help families regularly stay in touch with their sons, and the school continually updates families on their son’s development.
