Horowhenua College is a public co-educational secondary school in Levin set in a rural community between Tararua Ranges, Lake Horowhenua, and the Tasman Sea. We provide a balanced education catering for the academic, sporting and art students. A wide range of subjects is offered including Performing Arts, Technology subjects, Outdoor Education, Art/Design/Photography and Languages (Maori, Spanish, Japanese and tutor support for Latin and conversational French). Students can engage with both academic and cultural experiences. Horowhenua College has regularly taught students who have gained Scholarship in a range of subjects including - Physics, Biology, Geography, Art, English, Accounting, Maths and Statistics, Calculus. Students gaining this level are the top 3% of the country.
Horowhenua College is situated 35 minutes by road to Massey University, UCOL (Palmerston North) and 90 minutes by road to Victoria University and other tertiary institutions. Horowhenua College is strong in sport with individuals and teams competing at national level, eg canoe polo. Vast range of community activities.
