Since 1960, Manurewa High School has provided a balanced education that encourages academic, cultural and sporting excellence.
Academic results show that students are well prepared for their future pathways. They study for the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), and can access a range of opportunities for academic extension to prepare for university. We also stand out for the strengths of our vocational programmes in Engineering & Construction, Hospitality & Cathering, Computing & Technology, and Business.
We are a proudly multi-cultural school that values respect, excellence, inclusion, and love for learning. We have a small number of international students, and with strong relationships with our homestay families, can offer a supportive, caring experience.
We create engaging experiences for students of all abilities. This includes school trips in New Zealand and internationally, outdoor camps, and a range of sports and artistic opportunities. International students often participate in table tennis, badminton, tennis and other sports. They also enjoy opportunities to play a variety of musical instruments, perform in the concert band and choir, in dance and theatrical productions. Activities to experience New Zealand are arranged, and students enjoy sharing their own culture with the community during International Week.
