Summary

Onslow College is a non-uniform, coeducational state secondary school with a strong tradition of academic education within a student centered philosophy. It is situated 15 minutes by car from the city centre of Wellington on a large campus surrounded by hills.

Onslow College offers excellent standards of teaching with academic success.  We teach our students to be independent learners. The school is known nationally for its achievements in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Music, Graphic Design, English, Geography and Classical Studies. We have won national and international awards in graphic design, mathematics, Physics and design technology. The school is also strong in Geography, Music, Drama, Chemistry and Mathematics. There are also a number of short term courses for example Outdoor Education & Café Cuisine. Our Outdoor Education Course is run all year and is very popular with International Students. We offer a wide range of summer and winter sports and numerous cultural activities.

Our International Students Department has an "open door" approach with our students. They are welcome to meet with us at any time and we work hard at providing them with a high quality care, a suitable academic course and regular social activities.

Our International Students are placed in homestay accommodation with carefully chosen host families aim to meet their needs and ensure that they have a positive time in New Zealand. We have a dedicated Homestay Manager who provide 24/7 support for both the students and the families. We work hard at finding host families for students that meet their needs and ensure that their experience of living with a New Zealand family is positive.
