Summary
Papanui High School is an innovative, forward thinking, successful secondary school which has a diverse school community. The school roll is 1500. Students will gain many new insights academically, socially and culturally. We offer a wide range of subjects both academic and vocational and students choose their own course depending on their individual career pathways. ESOL programmes are designed to meet the needs of all students needing second language support. Co- curricular activities are important and there are over 35 sports and various music groups to choose from.

The school has had numerous students represent New Zealand in the following sports: football, athletics, touch, BMX, ice hockey, cricket.
As well as sports, we have had students receive high standing awards for music in Concert Band: best flute section and best base section: Jazz Band for the Jazz Ensemble, and best vocalist at Southern Jam.
Other Unique Highlights: Wifi, floodlit tennis courts, all-weather athletics track.
Special features: Partnership with Graham Condon Recreation and Sport Centre.
