Summary

At Pukekohe Intermediate School we will challenge students to aim high, inspire them to be lifelong learners and to be confident and positive contributors to society.

The course of study will be as Year 7 or Year 8 and will offer an initial intensive English language programme if necessary. In the initial programme, students will have a mixture of their own classroom and a New Zealand student classroom. If enrolment is accepted, your child will be tested to determine the entry level and initial support for English language. The school has a policy with the number of international students enrolled full time (enquire with us about this). This is to ensure we can guarantee top quality home stay accommodation and a specialised English Language Programme.

More about Pukekohe Intermediate School

Pukekohe is the largest town in the Franklin district and a popular shopping destination, 45 minutes from the centre of Auckland City. It is rather unique in being one of the few semi-rural intermediates in New Zealand. The school is well resourced for information technology (BYOD) with computers and the internet featuring strongly in the school’s curriculum programmes. We have a number of purpose built specialist classrooms for food technology, hard materials and arts’ rooms. Students are encouraged to be involved in sports, choir, orchestra, music lessons, productions and dance.
