Our curriculum enables specialisation at senior level and provides excellent access to information technology enhanced learning. This is complemented by a comprehensive careers advice programme, and university pathway opportunities.
At senior level, students work towards NCEA (National Certificates of Educational Achievement). This can be completed in one to three years depending on students’ age and educational experience in their home country and English language ability.
Our English language department is the largest in Christchurch and can cater for beginner’s right through to advanced university preparation programmes. Riccarton High School does not require a minimum English level – any student can enrol.
In addition to academic subjects, Riccarton High School offers a full range of co-curricular activities. A huge range of music, drama and sporting opportunities are available, including a Ski and Snowboard club which runs ski trips in the Canterbury region once a week during winter. Be sure to ask us about your co-curricular interests and we will do our best to organise access to this.
With an international airport, aviation academy, university, multi-million dollar library, unlimited retail outlets, movie theatre, dance academy, cheerleading centre, martial arts, ballet school and more all in, or next to, the suburb of Riccarton, Riccarton High is perfectly positioned to provide everything our International Students need. This successful, well-resourced co-ed school of 1000 students is a very popular choice.
