Tauranga Primary School is an urban contributing school, catering for up to 460 Year 1 to 6 children.
Established in 1904, the history of Tauranga Primary School is valued, and traditions are reflected today in the attractive school grounds, the style of the new buildings, and also in the sense of pride and belonging.
We believe in building a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy skills. These foundation skills then enable our children to develop knowledge and problem solving ability across a broad range of curricular learning experiences.
Our teaching and learning programmes ensure all students receive high quality teaching that is responsive and adaptive to the needs of all students.
We aim to support every learner to develop to his or her full potential.
International students are supported by a Director of International Students and two ESOL teachers, who are very experienced in the delivery of English as a second language. We have staff that are fluent in a variety of languages.International Students are taught both in mainstream classrooms and in small ESOL groups, with specialist teachers. Personalised learning programmes are developed based on individual student learning needs.
