Tokomairiro High School

Summary

Tokomairiro High School is a state secondary co-educational school for students from Year 7 to Year 13,.

Our school's motto - Disciplina (learning), Moderatio (self-control), Comitas (courtesy), handed on from the founders of our school, still provides the base of our school values. Added to this are our “Tokomairiro Way” values of respect, responsibility and excellence, that all members of our school community are expected to uphold. 

We have a behavioural management Programme for teaching and learning that gives clear guidelines to students and teachers. These seek to recognise and value positive learning behaviours whilst making students accountable to antisocial and anti-learning behaviours.

Our mission goal is 'working together to inspire excellence in education,in character and in life'.

We focus on building on the small school advantage by developing a safe and caring learning environment where students can build a love of learning.  A close partnership exists between the school, parents, and community. We prepare our students for life and work beyond school, so they may be good citizens and positive contributors to our society.

Tokomairiro High School is located in Milton which is 40 minutes from the city of Dunedin.
