Global Study Location
Padworth College is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 13 to 18 years. The College was founded in 1963 by Oxford University tutor, Peter Fison, and a group of Oxford dons, whose vision was to bring Oxford’s educational philosophy of tutorial teaching to school-level education. Padworth offers a broad range of academic programmes, with a wide range of academic subjects. A varied programme of extra-curricular activities complements academic study. The College combines a traditional British, well-balanced curriculum, with a modern and unique approach to learning. Class sizes are small and each student follows their own individual programme of learning that reflects career aspirations, as well as personal interests and ability. The College is a small school, with up to 100 boarders and 20 day students, so every student is known and supported. The student body is very diverse, with 30 nationalities represented. The College acts as a bridge between school and university, offering a safe and secure boarding school environment where students can thrive. The College has an excellent track record of placing students into leading universities, including many Russell Group Univerisites.
Padworth is situated on a 12 acre site on the edge of the hamlet of Padworth, near the university town of Reading. London’s Heathrow Airport is a 40 minute drive from the College, whilst trains to central London from Reading take less than 30 minutes.
