Eligibility Criteria

A Fulbright Award fully supports a candidate for the first year, these Scholarships are intended to enable Fulbright Award winners to complete degrees at the University of Auckland. The Scholarships are tenable by candidates who are Citizens of the United States of America.

Tenure: For Masters up to 12 months; for Doctoral up to 2 years

The basis of selection will be academic merit; a letter of application describing current academic progress and future academic plans; the quality and relevance of the candidate’s research to the University of Auckland; endorsement from the prospective supervisor and confirmation from Fulbright. Matters that may be considered in relation to academic merit may include, but are not limited to, academic record, standing of awarding institution, academic references, CV, research, publication record. Where a completed programme with a grade point equivalent (GPE) is the basis for entry to the masters or doctoral programme, a candidate must have a GPE of 7.00 or above in that programme to be eligible for scholarship consideration.
