Summary

This specialisation will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to effectively manage hospitality operations, from hotels and restaurants to resorts and event venues. In your first year you’ll develop a depth of business knowledge and skills required for any commercial context. This includes skills in management, leadership, accounting, marketing, HR, law, economics and sustainability, as well as knowledge of Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Then across your second and third years you’ll dive into hospitality Mmanagement, where you’ll explore key aspects such as service quality, financial management, marketing, and customer experience, all while gaining a deep understanding of the hospitality industry’s unique challenges and opportunities. Our experienced tutors will guide you through real-world scenarios to help you develop leadership and problem-solving skills crucial for success in this field. Flexibility is built into this degree, allowing you to study part-time, full-time, and/or in the evenings. You can also choose two specialisations at no extra cost or additional time, or personalise your degree by including up to five elective courses (Level 5 and above, equal to 15 credits each) from any subject area of your choosing.
