Designed for those who want to lead and manage building projects from concept to completion, this programme provides you with the technical expertise and practical skills for a successful career in either construction management or quantity surveying.
Upon completion of this programme, you'll receive a qualification to enter employment in construction management or quantity surveying under the supervision of a more experienced practitioner relevant to your chosen area of expertise.
This qualification also provides employers and consumers with the confidence that construction and building projects are being effectively planned and organised with sound financial management that meet the requirements of New Zealand legislation, Codes of Practice, and New Zealand and Australian Standards.
To be admitted to this programme, applicants must hold one of the following:
NCEA Level 2 including 12 credits in mathematics (excluding statistics) and a minimum of 12 literacy credits at NCEA Level 1;
OR
A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above;
OR
A recognised equivalent.
Special Admission
Any ākonga who is 20 years of age or older and has not reached the general admission requirements for their intended programme is eligible for Special Admission. Te Pūkenga works with the ākonga to ensure they are prepared for their intended programme.
Discretionary Admission
Any ākonga who is not yet 20 years of age and has not reached the general admission requirements for their intended programme may be eligible for Discretionary Admission. In assessing whether to grant Discretionary Admission, the delegated authority focuses on the applicant’s level of preparedness for their intended programme.
Language Proficiency
All applicants for whom English or te reo Māori is not a first language need to provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the programme.
International Entry RequirementsIn addition to the Domestic Entry Requirements, the following applies to international learner applicants.
English language proficiency
International learner applicants whose first language is not English must have an IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5 (or equivalent including TOEFL). IELTS scores used must be taken from a single IELTS Test Report Form within the prceeding two years. (i.e. combining scores from more than one test is not permissible).
