Summary

The PGCertClinEd is for health professionals who are responsible for undergraduate education, junior practitioner education or other specialist training programmes. The programme aims to develop the skills you'll need to become an excellent educator within a wide range of healthcare settings. It has a flexible format and provides opportunities for students to undertake research projects in their area of interest.

Entry criteria

You must have completed either:

  • a relevant Bachelors degree at a recognised university (or similar institution), or equivalent prior study.
  • a health professional qualification, or equivalent, at least two years' relevant professional experience, and be currently engaged in clinical teaching or curriculum development in a heath-related discipline

Relevant clinical degrees include degrees in medicine, midwifery, nursing, optometry, pharmacy and physiotherapy.

In exceptional circumstances, the entry requirements may be waived by the relevant Associate Dean Academic, or nominee, if it is determined that you have at least three years of relevant practical, professional, or scholarly experience.

English language requirements

If you are an international applicant whose first language is not English you will need to provide evidence of your English proficiency. You will require an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0.
