The Master of Management is a professional, relevant and contemporary qualification. Management involves both being able to work independently and making management decisions. But, you also need to be able to work with and direct teams of people.
The Master of Management will help you develop the skills you need for effective management of people within your organisation and externally.
The core course offers an introduction to business management in Aotearoa New Zealand, and the skills, tools and techniques needed for success in professional business practice.. We also have a broad range of business management specialisations to suit your interest and you will upskill in the core fundamentals of whichever area you choose.
**Note:**This qualification is not intended as a route to PhD. If that is your aim, we recommend you enrol in the Master of Business Studies (MBS).

Specific requirementsTo enter the Master of Management you will:
If you have a Postgraduate Diploma in Business as outlined above, you may apply for credit towards Part One of the qualification, in a single subject. If you are granted credit, the degree will be awarded without a subject.
Students who have completed the equivalent of at least 60 credits at postgraduate level and attained a minimum grade average of C+ or higher may be exempted from the requirement to complete the core course. They will then be required to complete an alternative course of 30 credits, which may be in the intended specialisation or a related subject.
You will need to provide copies of all official academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.
English language requirementsTo study this qualification you must meet Massey University's English language standards.
Time limits for Honours, Distinction and MeritWhere your qualification is completed within the stated time limit and to a high standard, you may be able to graduate with Distinction or Merit.

Maximum time limits for completionThere are maximum time limits to complete some undergraduate and all postgraduate qualifications. If you do not complete within the maximum time, you may be required to re-apply for the qualification if you wish to continue your studies.
