Studying for a Master of Applied Psychology at the University of Waikato gives you in-depth knowledge in a key area of applied psychology.
When studying a Master of Applied Psychology degree, you'll have a specialist area in behaviour analysis. The programme develops a detailed understanding of the underlying ideas relating to the chosen specialisation, as well as the fundamental principles and guiding values connected to your specialist field.
The Master of Applied Psychology degree includes opportunities for relevant hands-on experience through work placements and projects, connecting students with organisations.
Placement locations will vary based on the specialist area. You could have a placement in an educational environment such as a school, university, or special education setting. Projects can take place at research institutions or private practices. Other possibilities could include working with businesses and industry partners, or in the health sector. You may have a placement in a governmental agency or, if it fits with your specialist area, a zoo.
Please note that spaces are limited – applications are required before 15 September in the year prior to your intended start year.
