The NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills Level 2 provides a supported pathway to further study and employment.
It aims to give young people the skills and confidence to further study at NMIT at Level 3+ or into entry-level employment.

The NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills Level 2 can build on skills and experience you already have or have gained while studying towards the Level 1 Certificate. The programme offers:
Pathway opportunities
On completion of the Level 2 programme, students may choose to pathway into further study at NMIT at Level 3+ or move into entry-level employment.
There are no minimum academic requirements
Note: if you have previously achieved a level 2 qualification, you may not be eligible to participate in this programme. Please contact NMIT to discuss, or consider the Study and Employment programme, designed to support learners of any age to get back into study.
Other requirementsThe informal interview is designed to learn more about the applicant’s background, experience, motivation, and ability to participate in, and successfully complete the programme.
Applicants may be eligible for the Youth Guarantee, which is open to 16-19-year-olds (or 15-year-olds who hold an early leaving exemption from school).
