Entry criteria

What you will need to study this programme.

Domestic students Academic requirements

You must have completed at least oneof the following:

• A minimum of 48 NCEA credits at Level 2 or higher and a minimum of 10 credits in NCEA mathematics including measurement and number (excluding statistics); or
• ​​A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 3 or above; or
• Attained the age of 20 years on or before the first day of the semester; and provided sufficient evidence of aptitude or appropriate work or other life experience that would indicate a successful outcome in the qualification.

And meet oneof the English entry requirements;

• Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students Web-page.

International students Academic requirements

As a part of this requirement, you must be at least 16 years of age and meet one of the following;

• All applicants must be at least 16 years of age when they begin their studies, and they should meet the country-specific admission requirement or
• Successful completion of relevant programme

And English entry requirements;

​If English is not your first language, you will also need at least oneof the following qualifications:

• Evidence of an IELTS (Academic) band score of at least 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0 or
• Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students Web-page.
