Expand your degree and enhance your career prospects with advanced study in Music at undergraduate level.

Study a new subject at an advanced level or learn about more recent developments in your original Music discipline.

The Graduate Diploma in Music (GDipMus) is a flexible 120-point programme that you can tailor to your goals. You can select courses from 200 to 500 level but must include at least 75 points at 300 level or above. Your choices will need to be approved by the director of the School, and you may be able to include courses from other qualifications at Victoria University of Wellington. You'll complete the GDipMus in two trimesters if you're studying full time, or in up to four years if you are part time.

You need to have already completed an undergraduate degree to study the GDipMus, but it can be in a discipline other than Music. However, you may need to audition for Performance courses and submit a portfolio for Composition/Sonic Arts courses.

Further study

Offered by New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī, the GDipMus can also prepare you for study in your new subject at postgraduate level, such as the Bachelor of Music with Honours or the Master of Music.
