Entry criteria

You can apply for the MMS if you have:

  • MMS 180 points: You have completed a bachelor's degree, or its equivalent; in a relevant subject area, OR;
  • MMS 120 points: You have completed an honours degree or a postgraduate diploma in a relevant subject area (at least 120 points), AND;

You have achieved at least a B grade average, and satisfied the prerequisites for graduate study, in the subject you intend to take for this qualification

International students must have an equivalent qualification from a recognised university, and meet the English language requirements.

You also need to meet an English language entry requirement as follows: IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall (no band less than 6.0); iBT (internet based) TOEFL - 90 with a score of 21 in writing; Pearson PTE Academic - Overall score of 58 and no PTE communicative skills score below 50; University of Waikato College - Successful completion of Level 8 with a B grade average in the Certificate of Attainment in English Language (CAEL) programme.
