Summary

Equip yourself with the skills to manage projects on time and within budget.

This diploma is designed to enable you to scope, manage and lead projects. It covers business basics including accounting, sales and marketing, human resources and risk management, then focuses on project management.

You'll gain an understanding of project management principles and methods, and what project management tools are available. You'll also learn how to select, apply and support a broad range of current and emerging business technologies to meet a business's needs and how to apply this project management knowledge to real-life scenarios.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

This qualification will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed for project management roles, such as entry-level project manager or project co-ordinator, in a wide range of sectors.

STUDY PATHWAYS

You can further your expertise with a Bachelor of Applied Management which is available in 14 specialties. Credits from this diploma can be used towards the degree programme.

Entry criteria

NCEA Level 2 which must include:

  • 8 Literacy credits at Level 2 or above and 14 Numeracy credits at Level 1 or above

Note: If you have undertaken examinations other than NCEA (e.g. International Baccalaureate, Cambridge Examination), Ara will assess your qualification for academic entry equivalency.

Alternative requirements

If you show that you have equivalent skills for tertiary study gained through study, work and/or life experience, you may be able to gain alternative entry.

IELTS test - Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5

SPEAKING - 5.0
READING - 5.0
WRITING - 5.0
LISTENING - 5.0

TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) - Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)

TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) - Score of 46 (with a writing score of 14)

Cambridge English Qualifications - B2 First or B2 First for schools with a score of 162. No less than 154 in each skill

Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PTE (Academic) score of 42 with no band score lower than 36
