Summary

This programme aims to provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to work alongside people, family and/or whānau accessing social and community services, under broad guidance.

 Learners who pursue this programme may already work in an entry-level role in the health and wellbeing sector but are looking to develop their skills and knowledge further. The programme is also targeted towards those who do not yet have experience, but who are looking to secure a role in the Health sector.

 

This Certificate programme is composed of theory, placement and self-directed study, and will provide the community health and wellbeing sector with graduates who are informed, passionate and socio-culturally aware.

Entry criteria

    • Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
    • NCEA Level 2 (or equivalent)
    • or Hold a qualification in Healthcare or equivalent
    • or have a keen interest in Healthcare and successfully attend an interview
    • Must complete a police vetting form
    • Agree to undertake a volunteer work placement organised by Skill New Zealand if needed.
    • International students will need to meet the English Language requirements-Rule 18
