Summary
Looking to advance your skills in te reo Māori? If you have a desire to contribute positively to the development of te reo kia tika, kia rere, kia Māori, or have a personal and/or professional interest in te reo Māori, then this course is for you. Te Pokaitahi Reo (Te Kaupae 4) focuses on applying your knowledge through reading, writing and speaking. You'll develop the skills and knowledge to communicate independently in various situations with fluency and increasing flexibility in everyday whānau, marae, social, community, workplace and academic contexts, and in broader aspects of te ao Māori. Upon successfully completing the requirements you'll receive the award of: Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Reo Rua) (Te Kaupae 4)
Entry criteria
- NCEA Level 2 with passes in Te Reo Māori, OR
- Te Reo Rangatira at NCEA Level 2, OR
- Successful achievement of Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Reo Rua) (Te Kaupae 3) or evidence of successful achievement of an intermediate level Reo course or equivalent Reo skills and knowledge.
If you do not meet the academic requirements you may be given special admission if Toi Ohomai staff are satisfied you are capable of successfully completing the requirements.
Special admission may also apply for applicants over 20 years.
