This computing course gives you a basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, applications and networks so you can get your IT career off to a strong start. You'll learn about the main components of a computer; the way they interact; their assembly, disassembly and maintenance; how to troubleshoot common problems; various operating systems; end-user security; and internet-based services. You'll also complete an introduction to computational thinking and basic programming. You are expected to hold:
The New Zealand Certificate in Computing (Intermediate User) (Level 3), appropriate assessments in Digital Technologies Level 2, OR equivalent skills and knowledge
