Summary

Turn your passion into a career and get prepared for the industry. Develop your skills in jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, commercial dance, lyrical, contemporary and ballroom dance. Train in our purpose-built studios and perform in live productions. Learn to market yourself, develop a professional dance portfolio, make a show-reel and develop industry-standard audition techniques for global companies.

What you will learn

The New Zealand Diploma in Dance equips students with a high level of technical, artistic and interpretative skill in dance and provides the opportunity for practical performing experience. Students also study dance history, anatomy, nutrition and gain the skills to become a successful self-employed artist.

Students perform in many productions which showcase the breadth of dance styles they have mastered during their studies.

All classes in this course are streamed into different levels best suited for the student’s growth and learning needs. Our highly trained and experienced tutors work one on one with students to ensure their goals are being met and help with their transition into work from graduating.

Entry criteria

Domestic students

NCEA Level 2 or equivalent, plus evidence of skills/ability/aptitude based on audition and interview

International Students

Proven equivalence to domestic entry requirements and IELTS 6.0 (no band lower than 5.5).
