Accountants are in demand in Aotearoa New Zealand and there are good prospects to advance in your career. Once qualified, job prospects include financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, taxation, treasury, banking and finance, risk management and business consultancy across the private and public sectors.
Learners may start straight from secondary school or from prior study in related fields. The programme is also designed for those who want to return to education to develop new or related skills.
Ākonga will gain the educational requirements for membership of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and Chartered Practising Accountant Australia (CPA).
Entry requirementsTo be admitted to this programme all applicants must be at least 16 years of age on the date the programme starts, and meet one of the following requirements:

ii. unit standards - package of three numeracy unit standards (26623, 26626, 26627- all three required).
Or
Successful completion of an approved qualification at Level 4 or above with a relevant pathway
Additional expensesCloser to the programme starting, learners will receive a list of course materials to purchase. Examples of course materials could include textbooks, stationery, printing; uniforms, personal protective equipment, tools and a laptop.
