The Master of Business (MBus) provides students with broad business skills and expertise as part of UC's Business Taught Masters programme.

The degree explores business basics as well as a specialist major focus, and includes project opportunities through our industry contacts to give you practical experience in applying your commercial knowledge.

Open to students from any study background, the MBus offers you the chance to upskill, or a pathway for those looking to newly enter the business world.

The Master of Business is made up of 180 points. This is comprised of four compulsory courses in general business knowledge (60 points), courses towards a major subject (75 points), and project-based courses (45 points, with at least 30 points of these in the major subject area).


You can complete the MBus with one of the following majors:

  • Financial Management
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Sustainable Supply Chain Management

The major study also includes project courses.

Career Opportunities

This degree programme is designed to prepare graduates for roles in commercial industries, from possible-level through to upper management. Our graduates offer diverse business experience, with marketing and management often the most sought-after skills by today's employers, locally and globally.

Depending on their major, graduates will go onto roles in areas such as operations management, consulting, investment and financial analysis, human resources, advertising, and marketing across a range of different organisations.

You can also start a business of your own with the broad and specialist skills you learn in this qualification.

Entry criteria

Any bachelor's degree, with at least a B Grade Point Average in your 300-level courses, is required to enrol (or other qualifications of an equivalent standard).

Applicants must also satisfy our English language entry requirements:

  • IELTS (Academic): Minimum overall score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
  • TOEFL (IBT): Minimum overall score of 90, with a minimum score of 19 in Reading, Listening and Writing.
  • PTE (Pearson Test of English - Academic): Overall score of 58 and no communicative skills score below 50.

Application deadline: At least 6 months before the planned start date.
