Summary

This diploma-level course provides a broad overview of the NZ tourism industry. Emphasis is placed on developing strong business and workplace management, as well as communication skills, allowing graduates to become leaders of the industry. Graduates will have excellent knowledge of tourism operations, these include business systems, commercial aviation, finance and budgeting, trends in the tourism environment and understand market changes in the industry.

Entry criteria

​Domestic Student :

18 years of age at course start date.NCEA Level 3 or NZ Certificate in Travel level 4 or equivalent or at least one year work experience in the tourism or travel industries. Students who do not meet the entry requirements may be accepted at the discretion of the department head.


International student :


18 years of age or older at course start dateIELTS (General or Academic) 5.5 with no band lower than 5.0 (or NZQA approved equivalent)3 years of secondary school or equivalent work experience
