Starting part time in Trimester 2 or 3It may be possible to start the Bachelor of Commerce with Honours part time in Trimester 2 or Trimester 3, depending on the availability of courses in the subject you’ve chosen. WorkloadYou’ll study seven courses, usually full time over two trimesters. You can expect a workload of 40 to 45 hours a week for much of the year.
Part-time students doing two courses per trimester will need to do around 20 to 23 hours of work a week. Make sure you take this into account if you are working while studying.

How you'll studyMuch of your time will be spent carrying out focused, self-directed study and guided individual research. Often there are fewer lectures than at undergraduate level, and sometimes your classes will be student-run seminars.
SupportYou’ll have access to the Wellington School of Business and Government Honours Student study room set aside exclusively for postgraduate students. You can access these facilities from 7am to midnight.
Here, you’ll find computing and printing facilities, along with specialist software such as Gauss, Matlab, Mathematica, Maple, R, Shazam, and Stata.
Continue to Master’s studyAt the end of your Honours year, you can apply to continue your studies to gain a Master of Commerce. This will involve an extra trimester of supervised research, for a further 60 points.
A Bachelor of Commerce degree with an average grade of at least B+ in the relevant subject.
English language requirementsYou may also be required to demonstrate your proficiency in English.
