About the programme

Want to be an electrician?

Becoming an electrician is a great career choice with lots of exciting opportunities.

This apprenticeship programme delivered by EarnLearn Te Pūkenga offers quality training and support.

You’ll do on job training where you’ll learn in the workplace alongside a supervisor, and off job training where you’ll attend electrical theory classes at our Dunedin or Central Otago Campus. You will have an account manager to support you throughout your learning journey.

During this programme, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely and competently with electricity. As an apprentice, you’ll earn while you learn and get ready to be able to register as an electrician in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The first step of the process is to find an employer. If you're already working in the electrical industry, you can approach your employer. If you are looking to begin your electrical journey, you can contact prospective employers directly.

Once you and your employer are ready to get started, call 0800 327 648 or email support@earnlearn-tepukenga.ac.nz
