Summary

The Master of Music (Coursework) is an exciting new pathway for Bachelor of Music graduates to deepen their creative and scholarly practice. Combining advanced coursework with a major creative project or dissertation, this flexible degree supports aspiring performers, composers, music producers, and researchers in shaping their unique artistic and academic journey.

The MMus (Coursework) degree requires 12–18 months of full-time or its equivalent in part-time study. It is designed to give students higher-level skills in performance, composition, music production or combinations of these three, complemented with academic papers that help students articulate their practice in words.

Two 60-point papers at 400- and 500-level allow students to develop projects in Creative Practice, along with options for academic papers focused on creative practice, health and wellbeing, pedagogy, and community music, as well as Humanities papers that include research methods.
