The Postgraduate Certificate in Product Design (PGCertProdDesign) offers both practical and theoretical studies in designing product concepts for home, business, and commercial industry use.
UC’s dedicated product design facilities, including 3D printing labs, laboratories, and an AR/VR gaming lounge, will give you the opportunity to build your own products during study.
Those seeking to learn how to commercialise a product or service idea (design background not required) may want to consider the Postgraduate Certificate in Product Innovation or Master of Product Innovation.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Product Design involves up to 60 points of compulsory and elective courses (30 points of each) that allow personalised study into the commercial lifecycle of particular kinds of products.
Further study
UC offers a Master of Product Design and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Product Design.
Credit from your completed courses in the PGCertProdDesign can be transferred to the Master of Product Design, provided you have not already graduated with the Certificate beforehand.
Career Opportunities
Our Product Design graduates will find work in areas that have need for advanced experience in customer focus, product design and testing, and advertising.
This could include roles within marketing consultancies, education and training services, government, regulation and quality assurance (QA) testing, and a range of enterprises.
Entry to the Postgraduate Certificate in Product Design requires an appropriate design-related degree (eg, the Bachelor of Product Design) with a B Grade Point Average in your 300-level courses, or other qualifications of an equivalent standard.
Applicants must also satisfy our English language entry requirements:
